Alan Merrigan Photography and the Redlands Footlighters are putting together two evenings of headshots and auditions.  On September 13 and 14th, there will be auditions for “Born Yesterday upstairs. Downstairs in the green room, Alan Merrigan Photography will be set up to take headshots for you.

The cost is $40 for the sitting and you will receive a disk with all your images at no extra cost. You can take these disks to Costco or Walmart to make up your own prints and it will make it easy to upload a new Facebook photo, too!

Gold Leaf Theatre Productions is teaming with Calvary Baptist Church for a rummage sale. The proceeds earned by Gold Leaf will be used to raise funds to buy a portable lighting system for next season. Come and support us by checking out our rummage sale. Bill Bishop, one of the most talented actors in our valley,and one of the kindest men on the planet passed away January 3, 2010, due to cancer of the liver. He will long be remembered for his work at the Chino Community Theatre since 2003.

Bill first joined CCT in 2003 with To Kill a Mockingbird, and continued with several productions, including The Philadelphia Story, The Fantasticks, and On Golden Pond in 2009. His wit, spirit and good nature had a positive influence on us all, and he will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held in Bishop’s honor at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 at Centro Basco Restaurant, located at 13432 S. Central Ave. in Chino.

CCT will hold a second memorial Sunday, January 31 at 6:00 pm at the Seventh Street Theatre, 13123 Seventh Street, in Chino.

Fontana Community Players is looking to fill the following volunteer tech positions for the upcoming production Give My Regards…A Broadway Musical Revue:

• Lighting Director
• Sound Director
• Spotlight Operator
• Stage Manager
• Stagehand

Experience is not required for the stagehand and spotlight positions, but would be desired. Volunteers must be able to commit to 2 weeks of rehearsal starting April 6 (Mon-Thur from 7p-10p) and 2 weekends of shows, April 17-26 (Fri-Sun).

I’ve been maintaining the Inland Theatre League Web site now for almost five years.  During this time, I have come up with a short list of “tips” for publicity people to consider when they submit material for the site.  I have to admit, the list is pretty self-centered as it makes my job easier.  However, I share it because I think it is helpful for people who are just getting started writing releases for their organization. Former ITL judge and actress, Maxine S. Izzi, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on May 17th, 2008, after a long battle with cancer.  She was also a talented actress, including over 25 years with the Ramona Pageant and Ramona Hillside Players.

Actors seeking experience in scene and character work are encouraged to attend Footlighters March workshop, “Acting 201: Working the Basics”. This four-part course, taught by award-winning Inland Empire actresses, Deborah McFatter and Buffy Guzenski, will provide experience in scenework, monologues and character development through improv, games and performance. The workshops, held four consecutive Saturday mornings, 9:30 am to noon, March 8-29, cost is $40 for Footlighters members and $60 for non-members.

Stuart Campbell, an ITL judge, Redlands Footlighter member, and teacher, passed away November 17 from heart failure.  Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, at 1211 W. Sunset Drive in Redlands.

Stuart had been a member of Redlands Footlighters since 1949 and received a special award from the ITL in 2004 for a lifetime of support and excellence in community theater.
