Open auditions for LifeHouse Theater’s Scrooge, written by LifeHouse founder and president Wayne R. Scott, will be Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at LifeHouse Theater, 1135 N. Church Street, Redlands and Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 9:00am to 11:00am at First Congregational Church of Redlands, 2 West Olive Avenue, Redlands.

Auditions will be held on a first come-first served basis.  All are welcome and roles are open for men and women (except the role of “Ebenezer Scrooge”).  Men are especially encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should be at least ten years of age and bring a theatrical resume and a recent photo to leave with the audition panel.   Those without a photo may have a picture taken at the auditions for a $2 fee. Redlands Footlighters is located at 1810 Barton Road, in Redlands.

This famous comedy enjoyed one of the longest runs in Broadway history.  A vulgar, egotistic junkman, Harry Brock, has come to a swanky hotel in Washington to make crooked deals with government big-wigs. He has brought with him the charming but dumb ex-chorus girl, Billie Dawn.  Lacking in social graces, she agrees to be educated by an idealistic magazine reporter, Paul Verrall, who has been investigating political skullduggery and is interested in Brock’s activities.  As Billie begins to learn about history, politics, and what Harry really is, she rebels against being merely a tool in Brock’s crooked schemes to defraud the public.

Act One Theater Arts announces auditions for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a hilarious tale chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Yucaipa Little Theatre will be holding auditions for Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man, Willy Wonka,  and his quest to find an heir on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 23rd & 24th, from 7-9 p.m.  Show will be directed by award winning theatre veteran Daren Prescott.

We are specifically seeking adults, and young male teens (14 and up) for the roles of Charlie, Augustus Gloop, and Mike Teavee. Children 13 and under will be cast as Oompa Loompas and/or squirrels. Openings at Riverside Children’s Theatre

Riverside Children’s Theatre has immediate openings for the following:
            3rd Grade:  BOYS only
            6th Grade:  BOYS only
            7th Grade:  Boys AND Girls
            8th Grade:  BOYS only

RCT has been serving  Riverside and the surrounding communities for over 50years! It has a Saturday School from 9AM-12Noon where kids learn acting, singing and dance. These classes run within the RUSD school schedule. Out of this school there are two full scale theatre productions a year. Auditions are next week for the fall production of JU’s Aladdin and if you act fast your child can be in the show!! No experience required!!!  It’s not very often that the waiting lists for RCT are exhausted and it is open, here’s your chance!

The Pass Area Performing Artists (PAPA) is seeking a director for a holiday production.   They are looking for someone who either has a work he/she want to get before the public or someone who longs to direct a play that is presented to them.

PAPA is a three year old company with a loyal following that presents its productions at the Woman’s Club building, 175 W. Hays St. in Banning.  It is an excellent opportunity for a director to get exposure to new audiences or, if new, some experience.  There is a stipend attached.

The Grove Theatre announces auditions for Savin’ Up For Saturday Night.  Last year’s hit honky-tonk musical comedy is back and headed to the Grove Theatre in Upland, October 22nd – November 21st!

Lovin’ ain’t easy in this one honky-tonk town, and when the bandleader and the bartender fall for the same dance-hall girl, you can bet all heckfire’s bustin’ loose! It’s an evening of non-stop toe-tappers, cat fights, and love quadrangles.

This is a non-union open call, pre-submissions not required. Please bring picture and resume to the audition.

San Bernardino Valley College’s Theatre Arts Department will be holding auditions for its Fall 2010 production of Michael Tebelak & Stephen Schwartz’s Godspell.  Direction and choreography by Broadway veteran Denise Dales Jacobs and Music direction by Julie Edwards-Matanga.

Auditions will be held on August 19th, 2010 at 12pm on the main stage inside the theatre/auditorium next to the Administration Building located at at 701 S. Mt. Vernon Ave. in San Bernardino.

Audition sign in begins at 11:30 am and will be on a first come first served basis. Audition arrangements can be made if you have to leave early.

Orientation for the production begins on August 16th, 2010, at 12pm (the first day of classes).

While doing research for his latest book, novelist Charles Condomine invites an eccentric medium, Madame Arcati, to his home to observe her while she conducts a seance. Although he suspects she is a fraud, he soon discovers that she has unknowingly summoned the spirit of his first wife, Elvira. Just in time for Halloween, this classically spooky yet comedic tale is about Ichabod Crane, the spindly new schoolmaster in a quiet village known by the locals as “Sleepy Hollow”. When Ichabod falls for the coquettish Katrina Van Tassel, he unwittingly irritates her other suitor, the rugged and robust Brom Bones. Although Brom and his cohorts are intimidating fellows, it is the legendary Headless Horseman that haunts the church bridge near the schoolhouse who scares Ichabod the most!

The Inland Stage Company is holding two days of auditions for the 2010-2011 season at the Esplanade Art Center, 2181 West Esplanade Avenue in San Jacinto.

The ISC 2010-2011 season includes:



  • October/November – A Streetcar Named Desire
  • December – Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some!)
  • January/February – The Rocky Horror Show
  • March – The Suffragette Hamlet (a reversed gender Hamlet!)

  • May – Twelfth Night, or What You Will

For auditions prepare a monologue, a song or simply read from one of the scripts. 
All roles are open (except for Hamlet in the Suffragette Hamlet). Actors and technicians selected for the 2010-11 Company will be paid.
