The powerful biblical account of Ruth comes to life as LifeHouse Theater presents its popular musical, Ruth. This touching story of love and devotion recounts Ruth’s marriage – a union granting her a special place in the family lineage leading to Jesus.

Performances begin Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 7:30 PM and will continue on weekends through May 14, 2017. Performances are Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 2:15 PM (except Opening Night) and 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 2:15 PM. In addition to the weekend performances, a Thursday evening performance will be offered on May 11 at 7:30 PM. The performance on Friday, April 21, at 7:30 PM will also feature an interpreted presentation for the deaf. There will be no performances on Easter Sunday, April 16, or Saturday, May 6.

Advance ticket prices are $18 or $24 for adults and $9 or $12 for children ages 3-11 (no children under 3 are admitted) and can be purchased over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard by calling (909) 335-3037. Tickets are available online at boxoffice.lifehousetheater.com. Checks can also be mailed to LifeHouse, provided reservations are made far enough in advance. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, which is open Fridays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to performance times on the weekends. Tickets are $2 more the day of the performance. Group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Guests are encouraged to reserve seats early as performances do sell out.

“Ruth” features a cast of more than thirty performers from all over the Inland Empire. Amanda Springsted portrays the title role. Also featured are Rick Arias as Boaz, Sarah Pearce as Naomi, Jonathan Blair as the Head Servant, Danny Blair as Elemilech, and Emily Haus as Orpah. Additional players are Venice Schultis, Adam DesJardins, Joshua Isom, Troy Miller, Alistair Hynes and Julie Carlson.

This original adaptation is written by Jane Cason, with music and additional lyrics by Dustin Ceithamer. “Ruth” is directed by LifeHouse veteran Jana Smith. Smith’s production staff includes choreographer Sydney Schultis, music director Amy Muthersbaugh, and costume designer Cristy Conrad-Wiley. Set design is by Vincent Martinucci with sound and lighting design by Mark Perrenoud.

Following “Ruth,” LifeHouse Theater‘s 23rd season continues with the return of the family favorite “The Wizard of Oz” (May 27 – July 2, 2017) followed by the world premiere productions, “Abraham and Sarah” (July 15 – August 13, 2017), and “The Phantom of the Opera” (August 26 – September 24, 2017).
