In The Pajama Game, employees of the Sleeptite Pajama Factory are looking for a whopping seven-and-a-half cent an hour raise and they won’t take no for an answer. Babe Williams is the feisty, head of the grievance committee, but she may have found her match in shop superintendent Sid Sorokin. When the two get together they wind up discussing a whole lot more than job actions! A subplot involves Babe’s freewheeling co-worker Gladys and her insanely jealous boyfriend, factory-manager Hines. Song highlights include “Hey There”, “Steam Heat”, and “Hernando’s Hideaway”.
Rehearsals for The Pajama Game will begin in March and will be mostly 2 days a week. Performances will be at the John Hickey Performing Art Center in Phelan, CA, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, June 8th-24th.
