Redlands Footlighters will open the 2011-2012 Season with You Can’t Take It With You, the classic comedy from Moss Hart and George Kaufman, directed by Tom Hurst, on Thursday, September 8 at 8:00pm at the Footlighters Theater, 1810 Barton Road, in Redlands.

The play will run for three consecutive weekends closing on Sunday, September 25. Performances begin at 8:00pm Fridays and Saturdays, 2:00pm on Sundays with an additional matinee on the final Saturday. Call the box office at 909-793-2909 for tickets. Cost is $15.00, $10.00 for students.

Tony Kirby, the son of a successful businessman, falls in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Sycamore home– a home with a fireworks factory in the basement, a printing press and a terrarium with snakes in the parlor, an ex-grand Duchess earning her living as a waitress, and a grandfather who doesn’t believe in the income tax. At first, the Sycamore family seems mad. But if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder! The play was the winner of the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Redlands Footlighters will be holding auditions at Footlighters Theater, 1810 Barton Road, for Flemming (An American Thriller) on Monday and Tuesday, September 12 & 13 beginning at 7:00pm on both evenings.

The play is being directed by Patricia McQuillan and will open November 3, 2011, and run for three weekends closing November 20, 2011. The roles
consist of eight characters ranging in ages from late twenties to mid-sixties.

Bored by his mundane life, Henry Flemming sells his business to become a detective. His wife, Karen, is horrified as their living room begins to fill with bodies, including her father! (Read on …)

Riverside Community Players presents Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig, the author that brought you the raucous comedy, Leading Ladies.

Fate has given two fading thespians, George and Charlotte Hay, one more shot at stardom – Movie mogul, Frank Capra, is en route to Buffalo to catch their matinee of Private Lives… or is it supposed to be Cyrano de Bergerac?! Riverside Community Players will hold auditions for Same Time Next Year, directed by Jeff Richards.  Passion meets comedy in this clever look at love
by Bernard Slade.  (Playing November 11 – 27, 2011)

A New Jersey accountant and an Oakland, California housewife meet by chance at a Northern California inn. An affair ensues and the two agree to meet at the inn on the same weekend each year. As the years pass, an emotional intimacy develops and each helps the other through the changes affecting their lives. During their twenty-five year relationship, the manners, morals and attitudes of the decades are comically mirrored by the lovers.

Open auditions for LifeHouse Theater’s musical It’s A Wonderful Life!, will be Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at LifeHouse Theater, 1135 N. Church Street, Redlands.

Catch a Star Theatrical Players (CAST) kicks off the Halloween season with Agatha Christie’s The Hollow, on Friday, September 16, directed by Carol Damgen and featuring Tom Provenzano as Hercule Poirot.

Detective Poirot plans to enjoy a peaceful weekend at his country cottage when he becomes involved in a murder at the neighboring manor house named The Hollow. Various members of Sir Henry and Lady Lucy Angatell’s extended family are down for a weekend when love affairs, past and present, lead to murder.

Also starring are Thomas Berry, Lauren Campbell, Megan Grametbaur, Linda Hendrickson, Richard King, Stephanie Parshall, Donnell Powell, Howard Glenn-Rawley, Aaron Rogers, Katherine Rogers, Venissa Timbreza and Michael Voyu.

Performances are Sept. 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, Oct. 1 at 8pm; Sundays Sept. 18, 25, Oct. 2 at 3pm.  Tickets are just $10 and may be reserved by call the box office at 951-315-4253.
