Heartland Players will hold auditions for The Path of the Righteous – The Story of Irena Sendler on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at 6:00pm.

Casting ages 8+ in the roles of; Irena’s Mother, Jewish Children, Jewish Parents, Friends / Co-workers of Irena, Nazi Soldiers. Scripts will be provided, be prepared to do readings and be available till 9 p.m. if possible. All auditioning should bring a list of potential conflicts for August and September.

CAST, Catch a Star Theatrical Players, will hold auditions for Agatha Christie’s The Hollow – a Hercule Poirot mystery.  An unhappy game of romantic follow the leader explodes into murder one weekend at The Hollow home of Sir Henry and Lucy Angkatell.  Directed by Carol Damgen, auditions will be held Sunday, July 17, from 1-5 pm and Monday, July 18, from 7–10 pm.

Roles are available for 6 men and 6 women of all types ranging in age from 20 – 70. Cold readings only please. Bring picture and resume, if possible.

National Youth Arts honors IE groups

National Youth Arts is excited to announce the winners and nominees for the 2010-2011 season which honors outstanding work by youth in the arts. This year more than 200 productions were considered for the awards, including shows from more than 100 different theatres in more than 50 cities spanning 12 states. Formerly the National Youth Theatre Awards, the organization is now beginning to honor other youth arts including Music, Dance, Film, Writing and various other art forms.

The Ballet Studio and Fine Arts Network step outside the envelope by presenting the full length ballet of Giselle to the Temecula Valley and the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.

Giselle tells the story of a peasant girl named Giselle whose ghost, after her premature death, protects her lover from the vengeance of a group of evil female spirits.

The ballet is in two acts with music by Adolphe Adam originally choreography by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot. It was first presented in Paris on 28 June 1841. The Ballet Studio dancers once again bring a beautiful and inspiring evening for the whole family to enjoy.

Auditions: Moon Over Buffalo at Riverside Community Players

Auditions for RCP’s production will be held on July 18th and 19th, starting at 7:00 PM.  Lead roles are male and female, 50s-early 60s, supporting female, 70s, supporting males, mid 20s-mid 30s, supporting male, 50s, supporting females, mid 20s-mid 30s. Rehearsals begin on August 9th and performance dates run from September 9-25. 

Ken Ludwig’s wildly funny farce, Moon Over Buffalo will be the first show of the 2011-2012 season at Riverside Community Players, 4026 14th St., Riverside.  When first staged on Broadway, it received enthusiastic reviews.  “…Moon Over Buffalo is what a staged comedy should be. It is a wild and wacky farce. It’s Waiting for Guffman meets Noises Off meets your favorite Shakespeare comedy as performed by the Marx Brothers.
