The Inland Stage Company features a roaring 20s 12th Night opening May 6 at the Esplanade Art Center in San Jacinto.

“This is such a crowd-pleaser and an acting challenge to our troupe,” said ISC Director Jim Marbury. “The characters of the strange island of Illyria fascinate me. There are so many casting possibilities due to the incredible quality of performers that turned out for our auditions. It really feels as though we have the cream of the actors in the area.”

Vanessa Downs will be playing the role of the shipwrecked twin sister Viola.

“Viola is a survivor,” Downs said. “She’s the kind of person that will do what it takes to make it on her own. To survive, Viola must become Cesario, she must become a man. Yet, at the same time, she is still a girl who has found someone that she cares for in the Duke. She struggles with her feelings in a very real way.”

Riverside Community Players presents Election Day, by Josh Tobiessen.

Adam’s political activist girlfriend, Brenda, makes one demand on the day of the mayoral election and that is for Adam to vote. This seemingly simple task becomes more difficult than he could ever imagine as Adam is visited throughout the day by an eco-terrorist, his emotionally starved sister and a mayoral candidate who will do anything for a vote. This is a delightfully farcical comedy about the price of political (and personal) campaigns.

Tickets - $15.00
NO LATE SEATING

Box Office - Opens on May 9th and will be open Monday-Saturday 6pm-8pm and Sunday 12pm-2pm through the run of the show. On the day of the show, the hour prior to curtain time is reserved for business pertaining to that performance only.

Ramona Hillside Players proudly present Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, dramatized by Christopher Sergel and directed by Carol Damgen.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, brother and sister Jem and Scout Finch are growing up in the Deep South during the 1930s depression. Their idyllic childhood is jolted with the realization that prejudice and bigotry rule in their small town. Their widowed father Atticus Finch, a deeply principled man, is appointed to defend a young black man accused of raping a white woman, for whom a guilty verdict from an all-white jury is a foregone conclusion. This American classic is as evocative of its age as it is timelessly relevant; a tale of moral duty, humanity and respect, observed with brilliant clarity through the restless and inquiring eyes of a child.  “You never know someone,” Atticus tells Scout, “until you step inside their skin and walk around a little.” But fear keeps them at a distance until one night, in streetlight and shadows, the children confront an evil born of ignorance and blind hatred and must somehow find their way home.
