When three weird sisters prophesize that he will become the King of Scotland, Macbeth and his wife take fate into their own hands and murder the aging king. As the play progresses, Macbeth finds it easier to destroy anyone in his path, but he pays a dear price. Initially a man of great potential, Macbeth chooses to give into his darkness, ultimately losing any connection to that which is true and noble and right. One of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, Macbeth is a timeless tragedy about the nature of ambition, conscience, and the human heart, and holds a profound grip on the Western imagination.

Jesus Christ Superstar, the award-winning rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Tim Rice is coming to the Old Town Temecula Theater stage April 7th through April 24th. First staged on Broadway in 1971, it highlights political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The Rock opera is based loosely on the last week of Jesus’ life through Judas eyes, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem, and ending with the crucifixion.

Directed by Mark McCullough, this diverse cast of seasoned veterans and new young talent will take you on a journey with Christ, his apostles and followers as they experience laughter, joy, pain and loss throughout the show. Choreographed by Ali Whitman, dancers capture the energy and emotions of each moment. Musical Director Victoria Mora Collins guides this cast of talented and mature singers through complex harmonies and familiar lyrics without losing the emotion. Featuring local favorites Jason Call as Jesus, Winston Peacock as Judas, Barbara Chiofalo as Mary Magdalene and Kit Fugrad as Pilate as well as bringing in the talented Michael Reininger from Denver as Caiaphas, Jesus Christ Superstar will bring tears and joy to audiences of all ages.
