LifeHouse Theater spotlights a little known funny fairy tale with the new musical The Princess and the Pigs. Based on the Grimm Brothers fairy tale “King Thrushbeard,” this original comedy brings to life the story of Princess Mirabel, the ridiculously rude and selfish daughter of King Atreo.  But the king’s surprising idea to pair her with a singing beggar and a herd of pampered pigs will ensure Mirabel will never be the same.  This hilarious world premiere musical is at once insightful, poignant and amusing.

The Princess and the Pigs opens Saturday evening, February 5, 2011 and continues through March 13, 2011. Performances are Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 2:15 PM and 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:15 PM.  In addition to the weekend performances, there will be a special Thursday performance on March 10 at 7:30 PM.  The 7:30 PM performance on Saturday, February 19 will also feature an interpreted presentation for the deaf.

Advance ticket prices are $14 or $18 for adults and $7 or $9 for children ages 3-11 (no children under 3 are admitted) and can be purchased over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard by calling (909) 335-3037, ext. 21.  Checks can also be mailed to LifeHouse, provided reservations are made far enough in advance.  Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, which is open Fridays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to performance times on the weekends.  Tickets are $1 more the day of the performance.  Group rates are available for groups of ten or more.  Guests are encouraged to reserve seats early as most performances usually sell out. In this classic Agatha Christie mystery, ten people are invited to an unfamiliar country house on an island off the coast of Devon, England.  On the mantel over the fireplace are statuettes of ten little indians.  A nursery rhyme above tells how each little Indian met his death — one by one until there were none.  When life starts to imitate the nursery rhyme, the stranded strangers frantically search for a murderer, and their own pasts return to haunt them.
