Chino Community Theatre presents the holiday classic, A Christmas Story, By Jean Shepherd, directed by John Lynd.

The cult classic follows the quest of 8-year-old Ralphie for a Red Ryder BB Gun despite warnings that  “You’ll shoot your eye out!” Performances are at 8 p.m. Dec. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18 and at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and 12.

Ticket cost is $15 general admission and $12 for students and seniors. Box office: 590-1149. Dine first at Owen’s Bistro and take the receipt to the box office the same night for a $3 discount per adult ticket per entrée purchased. Owen’s: 628-0452.

Auditions for the Season with A Repertory Theatre Group (ART) for Wednesday, Dec. 1:  “Glass Menagerie,” “The Diary of Anne Frank,” “I Remember Mama,” “Déjà Vu:  #10 Saloon,” “Stones in His Pocket,” “Sabrina Fair,” and “Broadway Revue.”  Cast calls for men and women ages from 18-senior adults.  Some are Readers Theatre style productions. Need singers as well as actors.  Singers, bring your own material. 

Auditions held at the Beaumont Presbyterian Church on 6th and Euclid at 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.  Call back schedule will be announced.  Reading from provided material.  Season starts in February and runs into the fall of 2011.  Performances at the Banning White House. Professional directors with background experience with the National Theatre in London and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Open auditions for LifeHouse Theater’s The Princess and the Pigs, will be Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at LifeHouse Theater, 1135 N. Church Street, Redlands.

Auditions will be held on a first come-first served basis.  All are welcome and roles are open for men and women.  Men are especially encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should be at least ten years of age and bring a theatrical resume and a recent photo to leave with the audition panel.   Those without a photo may have a picture taken at the auditions for a $2 fee.

Inland Stage goes for a non-traditional, yet traditional, approach to the holiday season, featuring Every Christmas Story Ever Told this December.

“The audience should expect a funny, fast paced holiday romp where they get to see scenes from many of their holiday favorites including ‘Rudolph,’ ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas,’ ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ ‘The Grinch,’ and many more,” said Production Director Marcy Wright. “But they can also expect to learn some fun informative facts about Christmas traditions from around the world. They may even get a little song and dance.”

Wright decided to direct the show because it excited her when she initially read the play. (Read on …)

Riverside Community Players will hold auditions for Stuart Little, based on the book by E.B. White, adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette, and directed by Michael Eastman.

(Public Performances: February 18 – 20, 2011)
(Morning School Matinees: February 16 – 18, 2011)

Stuart Little is no ordinary mouse! He was born to a family of humans and even has an older brother and a cat named Snowbell. Though he is shy and thoughtful, he is also a true lover of adventure. Stuart’s greatest escapade comes when his friend, the lovely bird Margalo, disappears from her nest and this heroic little mouse ventures away from home to go in search of her. Auditions will be held at Rialto Playhouse on Dec. 7 and 8 at 7:00pm. The production runs January 22 – February 5, 2011. The Dixie Swim Club will be directed by Chris Diehl.

Looking for 5 women in their late 30′s to early 50′s with sharp comedic timing. During the play, the characters age from 44 to 77. Be prepared to cold read from the script for BOTH ages, and southern accents are a MUST! (Read on …)

Seeking sound effects person
