The Inland Empire edition of the world’s largest timed-filmmaking competition, The 48 Hour Film Project, will be held Aug. 6-8, 2010. In short, teams get 1 genre, 3 elements (character, prop, line of dialogue) and 48 hours to make a 4-7 min. film – write, shoot, edit, score, get it “in the can.”

An open casting call scheduled for July 13 (6:30 – 11 p.m.) at JDS Actors Studio in Temecula. Actors audition for various team leaders, directors and producers seeking talent for their 48 Hour Films (and perhaps other projects). Many past participants have worked in both live theater and film/video. More info about the auditions, including the RSVP page, can be found at http://jdsactorsstudio.com

Completed films will screen at UltraStar Cinemas in Riverside on Aug. 18 and 19, with a “Best of Inland Empire” showcase and awards ceremony slated for Aug. 25 at Old Town Temecula Community Theater.
