Anne of Green Gables – The Musical is based on the international best-selling novel. This original production follows the challenging, and sometimes humorous, life drama of orphan Anne Shirley, from her struggles as an adolescent to her triumphs as a young woman. A delicate epic full of wit, style and emotional power, this musical event shares the wonders of love and will bring joy into your heart. Don’t miss Anne of Green Gables!
Anne of Green Gables will perform for three weekends beginning on March 12th and ending March 28th with performance times on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Lyricist Dimyana Pelev states; “It is truly an honor to be part of the team that brings to life the timeless Montgomery novel and connect it to such beautiful, classical music in the fun exciting fashion of musical theater”. The music for this production features highlights from the works of Tchaikovsky and Mozart.
Anne of Green Gables co-stars Ivy Manson as the freckled little red-head Anne and Kendal Solak as the mature Anne. Kayla and Krista Curtis portray the beautiful, bosom friend, Diana. Jody Evans plays the serious, practical Marilla and Richard Bennett plays the soft-spoken, loving Matthew. The role of town-gossip, Rachell Lynde, is filled by Amy Muthersbough with Mark Soderblom as the tall and teasing Gilbert Blithe. Completing the colorful cast of characters are; Hannah Bunker (Josie Pye), Chelsea Caracoza (Prissy Andrews), Elaine Samano (Jane Andrews), Brianna Clemons, (Esther Smith), Jacqueline Chevrier (Ruby Gillis), Danniella Harman (Rosie Gillis), Aimee Coller (Flora Jane), Aubry Reeves (Mrs. Blewitt), Theresa Story (Mrs. Barry), Lara Johnson (Minnie May Barry) and Kirstin Soderblom, Izabella Andrea Morales, Sophia Harman and Kaitlyn Boyd as the youngsters of Avonlea.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for students/seniors/children and $30 for a family ticket of four people max. All tickets are sold on the day of the event. No reservations are required and seating is first come, first serve. Cash and checks only please.
We are pleased to announce that on Friday, March 12, 2010, all children 12 and under come free. Please note, one free child per paying adult.
Heartland Theatre is located at 33994 Avenue E in Yucaipa.
This production is presented by special agreement with Stars of Tomorrow Children’s Theater and is suitable for ages 3 and up.
