Auditions: Agatha Christie’s The Patient at Yucaipa Little Theatre

Auditions for Agatha Christie’s murder-mystery The Patient, will be Monday, Feb. 1, 7 – 9 pm with call backs on Tues., Feb. 2 at the Yucaipa Little Theatre. Performances will be March 12 and 13 at 7:30 pm, and March 14 at 3:30 pm.
The Patient centers around a woman who sits paralyzed in a wheelchair following a fall from a balcony. The question is, did she faint or was she pushed? The inspector, who realizes that the patient is not physically but psychically traumatized, cleverly determines that murder was intended and uses a devious ruse to trap the guilty party.
The cast for The Patient consists of 5 males and 4 females as follows: Lansen, a tall, gangly young man wearing spectacles; Nurse, an attractive, submissive woman; Dr. Ginsberg, dark, clever looking, 40’s; Inspector Gray, middle-aged; Brayan Wingfield, short, stocky poker-faced mild man, 35-45; Emmeline Ross, grim-faced, tall, 40-50; Willam Ross, dark haired, mercurial temperment, 35; Brenda Jackson, tall, attractive woman of 25; Patient, short, large female, 50-60. At auditions, you will be asked to read from the script in the best English accent you have. You will also be asked to perform a short monologue of your choice.
Those cast will be given scripts on Tues., Feb. 2, at which time a read-through will be done. Cast members are to be off-book by March 2, and rehearsals will be March 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11, from 7 – 9 pm.
