This laugh out loud show is loosely based on the Book of Job. It  takes place in a Long Island mansion in which resides a pious, God-fearing tycoon named Joe Benjamin, his long-suffering wife, their prodigal son and pair of kooky twins. When a visitor appears, Joe faces one challenge after another as the visitor puts him through all manner of temptations to get him to renounce God. When Joe stands firm, the visitor admits defeat … and asks for a letter of recommendation.

Faith and patience are severely tested by uncontrolled events in this show; audiences everywhere can relate to that. Written when the playwright was dealing with the passing of his own wife of 20 years, God’s Favorite is filled with poignant humor and Simon’s trademark wit, all while carrying an underlying message of absolute faith during adversity.

$10.00 Matinees and Seniors
