The Inland Stage Company presents The Grapes of Laugh, or Whose Whine is it Anyway? – an improvisational game show where the audience sets the content – Saturdays, Nov. 7, 14 and 21, at the Esplanade Art Center.

“We’ll be offering a dinner theatre option, so we’ll have some top notch food to match the entertainment,” said ISC Artistic Director Jim Marbury. “Come and see 6 of the Inland Empire’s top talent compete for the championship.”

This fundraiser will raise money for the Inland Stage Company’s general operating fund, and contribute to the Diamond Valley Arts Council’s new Esplanade Arts Center in San Jacinto as well as the Ramona Bowl’s “For the Love of the Bowl” Campaign.

“To quote Robert L. Lynch, President and CEO of Americans for the Arts, ‘Understanding and acknowledging the incredible economic impact of the nonprofit arts and culture, we must always remember their fundamental value. They foster beauty, creativity, originality, and vitality. The arts inspire us, soothe us, provoke us, involve us, and connect us. But they also create jobs and contribute to the economy,’” Marbury said. “The arts, and in particular collaborative arts like theatre, provide an outlet to the youth and contribute to the vitality and overall quality of life to every member of the community.”

Auditions for “The Grapes of Laugh” take place 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, and 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, along with open  auditions for the remainder of the Inland Stage Company’s 2009-2010 season. The season includes “A Christmas Carol,” “The Rocky Horror Show,” “True West,” “Othello,” “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” and a “New Directions Festival” featuring one acts from new local writers.
