The Titanic may have sunk in 1912, but Molly Brown’s heroism secured her name in history and legend. At Performance Riverside, her legend lives on in The Unsinkable Molly Brown, opening November 13.

This spirited tale of a real-life American original follows the exploits of Molly Brown, whose feisty determination to move beyond her impoverished beginnings leads her from the backwoods of Hannibal, Missouri, to the palaces of Europe. With music and lyrics by Meredith Willson, creator of the Broadway classic, The Music Man, and a book by Richard Henry Morris, author of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Molly Brown still reigns supreme in the court of Broadway’s royalty. The production is directed and choreographed by Roger Castellano, musically directed by Scott T. Smith, and produced by Rey O’Day. (Read on …)

Autobahn is Neil LaBute’s provocative collection of one-act plays set within the confines of the front of a car. Each of these seven brief vignettes explore the ethos of perception and relationship–from a make-out session gone awry to a kidnapping thinly disguised as a road trip, a reconnaissance mission involving the rescue of a Nintendo 64 to a daughter’s long ride home after her release from rehab. The result is an unsettling montage that gradually reveals the scabrous force of words left unsaid while illuminating the delicate interplay between intention and morality, capturing the essence of middle America and the myriad paths which cross its surface.

Oklahoma! is Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration, and it remains their most innovative.  Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road.

Come join us for an evening of romance, great musical harmonies and dancing!   Show dates are November 5th, 6th and 7th at 7 pm, and November 7th and 8th at 2 pm.    All performances are at the beautiful Rotary Performing Arts Center at Lakeside High School in Lake Elsinore, CA.
