Auditions: The Unsinkable Molly Brown at Performance Riverside

Performance Riverside announces open call auditions for professional non-union performers for the upcoming production of The Unsinkable Molly Brown. The production is directed and choreographed by Roger Castellano, and musically directed by Scott T. Smith. Auditions will be held Sunday, September 20 at 6pm for principles, and Monday September 21 at 7pm for ensemble in Landis Performing Arts Center on the campus of Riverside City College. Performance pay is available.
Please prepare a song (16 bars) appropriate to the material which shows your voice and personality. Have another contrasting song prepared in the event one is requested. Wear clothes appropriate for moving and dancing. All persons who audition must bring a resume, headshot, and a 110 word biography with them. Rehearsals start October 17, with performances on November 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22 at Landis. Come prepared to list any conflicts you have with the rehearsal schedule.
Currently casting for the roles of:
- Molly Tobin – female lead (16-30) with a strong belt. Headstrong and energetic lass in her teens who ages as show progresses.
- Johnny “Leadville” Brown – male lead (25-40) baritone. A handsome bull of an Irishman with a sweet temperament.
- Michael Tobin – male supporting – (12-16) baritone. Molly’s brother.
- Aloysius – Tobin male supporting – (12-16) baritone. Molly’s brother.
- Patrick Tobin – male supporting – (12-16) baritone. Molly’s brother.
- Shamus Tobin – male supporting – (40-55) baritone. Molly’s father.
- Prince DeLong – male lead (30-40) – baritone. Tall, handsome prince who loves Molly.
- Princess DeLong – supporting female mezzo – (30-40) Sophisticated, kind lady
- Brawling Miners/Royalty and Numerous Cameo Roles – (20-55)
- Singers, Movers, Dancers and some Actors only. All sizes and shapes
- Saloon Hall/Royalty Women and Numerous Cameo Roles – (18-50)
- Singer/Dancers and some Actors only. All sizes and shapes
