The Temecula Valley Players opened their season Thursday, August 20, with a rousing performance of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Talented young director, Jeremy Scott Lapp, has created a wonderful rendition of a Broadway play drawn from the acclaimed 1954 movie musical. The choreography by Gary Iversen is at once aggressive and athletic while equally playful and exuberant. Taylor Peckham, the show’s immensely gifted conductor ranks as the youngest musical director and vocal coach in memory. Leading a live orchestra of excellent musicians, Taylor is a man-child of eighteen who wields his masterful baton from the orchestra pit with more sensitivity and control than musicians far older and grayer.

Rialto Community Players proudly presents 1776, music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards , book by Peter Stone, and directed by Diana Combs.

1776 is an exciting musical that dives into history and portrays the story of the happenings in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that lead up to the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. This thrilling musical accurately portrays the serious personal and political issues at stake – frequently in the characters’ own words, written by them at the time – despite it’s historical accuracy 1776  remains a musical comedy.
