Murrieta Repertory Theatre presents the rollicking comedy Tartuffe! (or The Hypocrite), opening April 17 at the Esplanade Arts Center.  The show was adapted by MRT Artistic Director Jim Marbury and directed by Darcie Flansburg.

Two shows remaining!  The production will then perform 8 p.m. Saturday, May 2, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the the Murrieta Community Center.

The Rancho Cucamonga Community Theatre announces auditions for Oliver!, the RC Summer Family Musical Spectacular 2009.

Auditions are to be held for children ages 8-17 on Saturday, May 9th, at 10 am. All those in this age group should come prepared to learn a short song and dance routine.  No additional preparation is required.

With a crash of drums and a flash of light the musical spectacular, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat comes to the Corona, headlined by Chanlon Jay Kaufman as Joseph.

This international hit, with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice plays for 4 performances only, April 30th-May 2nd.   The show is a musically comic and colorful journey of a the young dreamer Joseph and his misadventures with his eleven brothers.  Animated with a high-energy mix of music and dancing from 50’s rock to calypso to country, this show is a crowd pleaser with audiences young and old. Ramona Bowl Amphitheatre will hold auditions for Annie Get Your Gun at 6 p.m. on April 27 in the Alessandro Room at the Ramona Bowl.

Prepare one minute of song and bring sheet music in your key (or a CD).
Be prepared to read from the script and dance.

Rehearsals will begin mid-May and performances will be July 10-12, 17-19, 24-26 2009.

CAT of Corona presents their Spring production: Peter Pan.  First produced on Broadway with Mary Martin and more recently a major hit starring Cathy Rigby, this is one of the world’s most celebrated musicals. Here is all the charm of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, the children Wendy, Michael and John, pirates and Indians, embellished with show-stopping songs, “Never Never Land”, “I Won’t Grow Up” and “I’m Flying”.

Yucaipa Little Theatre seeking men

Yucaipa Little Theatre is looking for men for the roles of Merlyn, Pellinore, and various knights in the Broadway musical Camelot.

The Temecula Valley Players proudly present Teahouse of the August Moon. All theatre-goers are invited to enjoy a fully staged production of this marvelous classic of American theatrical literature.

Teahouse is a touching, funny and charming Pulitzer Prize winning play about the clash of cultures (American and Okinawan) in postwar Japan.  It boasts an outstanding cast, beautiful staging with brilliant direction by the eminent Claude Earl Jones. Chino Community Theatre continues its proud Weekender tradition with the Pulitzer Prize winning production of Wit, written by Margaret Edson and directed by Tom Hurst.

Open auditions will be held on April 18 and 19 from 10am to 2pm at the Seventh Street Theatre, located at 13123 Seventh Street in Chino.

Actors will be asked to cold read from the script.  Please come prepared with a resume, headshot (if possible), and all potential conflicts for the months of May and June.  Rehearsals are expected to be Monday-Wednesday evenings with possible pickups on the weekends.  The show runs June 19-21 and 26-27.

Join Wendy and her brothers on an amazing tour of Neverland sparked by the irrepressible Peter Pan.  With the help of unpredictable Tinkerbell, mysterious Tiger Lilly, the impish Lost Boys, and the croc with a clock, Peter Pan and Wendy lead a battle to thwart the evil plans of Captain Hook and his hilarious henchmen.  A stunning new musical for all ages.

Performances begin Saturday, May 9, at 7:30 PM and will continue on weekends through June 14, 2009.  Performances are Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 2:15 PM (except Opening Night) and 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 2:15 PM.  In addition to the weekend performances, there will be a special Thursday performance on June 11, 2009 at 7:30 PM.  The 7:30 performance on Saturday, May 30th will also feature an interpreted presentation for the hearing impaired.

Advance ticket prices are $12 or $18 for adults and $6 or $9 for children ages 3-11 (no children under 3 are admitted) and can be purchased over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard by calling 335-3037, ext. 21.  Checks can also be mailed to LifeHouse, provided reservations are made far enough in advance.  Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, which is open Fridays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to and during show times on the weekends.  Tickets are $1 more the day of the performance.  Group rates are available for groups of ten or more.  Guests are encouraged to reserve seats early as many performances sell out.

Good-bye, classroom and hello, summer!  For the Wildcats this vacation is no day at the beach. That’s because they’re all working at the Lava Springs Country Club owned by Ryan and Sharpay’s family! With the club’s annual talent show right around the corner, Sharpay’s competitive instincts are sizzling. She dumps Ryan as her singing partner and starts wooing Troy to join her onstage instead. Gabriella is less than thrilled that Troy has agreed to sing with Sharpay. How could he do that to her? Will Troy and Gabriella realize that they’re meant to be? Or is it already too late for them to sing one last song together?

Auditions for Shakespeare in the Vines’ 2009 announced!  Their ‘Comedy Tonight’ Season includes two of Shakespeare’s finest comedies: Much Ado About Nothing (July 16th through August 1st) and The Comedy of Errors (August 13th through 29th). All parts are open. Please prepare a comedic monologue, or be familiar with scripts for cold reading. Bring resume and a recent photo or headshot.
