Auditions for Annie Get Your Gun at Performance Riverside

Performance Riverside announces open call auditions for professional non-union performers for the upcoming production of Annie Get Your Gun, with music by Irving Berlin, The production is directed and choreographed by John Vaughan and musically directed by Scott T. Smith. Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 21 at 6:30pm, at Landis Performing Arts Center on the campus of Riverside City College. Performance pay is available.
Please prepare a song (16 bars) that shows your voice and personality. Have another contrasting song prepared in the event one is requested. Wear clothes appropriate for moving and dancing. All persons who audition must bring a resume, headshot, and a 110 word biography with them. Weeknight and weekend rehearsals begin October 11, 2008. Performances are November 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16, 2008 at Landis Performing Arts Center. Come prepared to list any conflicts you have with the rehearsal schedule.
Currently casting for the roles of:
- Frank Butler (Baritone, 25-40) – A suave sharpshooter in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show –Enjoys his status as a heartbreaker and star of the show.
- Annie Oakley (Mezzo/belt, 20 – 30) – A happy, endearing country girl, an amazing markswoman. Illiterate, not very “lady-like”. Strong singer-comedian who carries the show.
- Charlie Davenport (Tenor, 30 – 45) – Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show’s advance manager.
- Col. Will. F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody (Baritone, 45 – 70) – Founder of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.
- Winnie Tate (Soprano, 16 – 21) – Dolly Tate’s daughter who performs in Buffalo Bill’s show and dates Tommy.
- Chief Sitting Bull (Baritone, 40 – 65) – Wise old man.
- Pawnee Bill (Baritone, 40 – 65) – In charge of the rival show.
- Foster Wilson (Baritone, 45 – 70) – Hotel owner.
- Dolly Tate (Alto, 40 – 55) – A performer in Buffalo Bill’s show and mother of Winnie.
- Tommy Keeler (Baritone, 17 – 23) – Winnie’s boyfriend.
- Annie Siblings -Three girls and one boy.
- Ensemble – Male and Female of various shapes and sizes, to sing and dance and play multiple smaller speaking roles.
