Rialto Community Players will hold auditions for Neil Simon’s Rumors, directed by Toni Lynd, on Tuesday, September 23rd from 7pm to 10pm at the Rialto Community Playhouse, located at 150 East San Bernardino Avenue in Rialto. The show runs November 1-23.

Production Synopsis 
Four couples are at a deputy New York City Mayor’s townhouse to celebrate his tenth wedding anniversary. The party never begins because the host has shot himself (it’s only a flesh wound!) and his wife is missing. The cover up grows progressively more difficult to sustain as more guests arrive and nobody can remember who has been told what. Doors slam and hilarity abounds, as the situation gets more and more crazed.

Character Info 
All parts open for this funny, physical comedy.  Be prepared to read from the script. Ages 20 and up.

• Chris Gorman – Attractive woman. Wife to Ken. Both are very nervous that their host of the party may have attempted suicide and will not come down stairs. Their job is to stall and cover up. Elegantly dressed. 
• Ken Gorman – Husband to Chris. A lawyer. Nervous wreck. He must pretend to all arriving guests that all is well even as he is rendered near deaf by a second gunshot. 
• Lenny – Husband to Claire. He has hurt his back badly in a car accident on the way to the party. This is a bickering couple. He is extremely frustrated and quick to anger. He must do a very funny lying monologue at the conclusion. 
• Claire – Wife to Lenny. Attractive. She has hurt her lip in the accident. She is equal to Lenny in loud arguing contests. 
• Ernie – Husband to Cookie. The two use sickening pet words for each other. Early 50’s.
  A psychiatrist. 
• Cookie – She wears an awful cocktail dress. Something of a charity social butterfly. Her back goes out all the time and so she carries a cushion with her for such emergencies. She is a TV cooking show hostess. 
• Glenn Cooper – Handsome younger man running for senate. He’s of course, having an affair. Husband to Cassie. They are on edge with each other and are getting a divorce. 
• Cassie Cooper – Attractive woman, but ready to destroy Glenn right here and now. 
• Officer Welch – A strong vigorous man. Dean pan humor. 
• Officer Pudney – A young woman in her 20’s. Trying to be the best cop in a dumb situation.
