Chino Community Theatre will hold auditions for A Christmas Carol, directed by John Lynd, on October 12 from 10am to 2pm at the Seventh Street Theatre in Chino (13123 Seventh Street).

Characters needed:

Ebenezer Scrooge—This is the story of his metamorphasis from Christmas Eve to Christmas day.

Bob Cratchit—Scrooge’s clerk. A kind man with a family, he is instrumental in Scrooge’s change.

Fred—Scrooge’s nephew. Kind and caring.

Two Solicitors—They enter Scrooge’s office to solicit money for the poor.

Jacob Marley—Former partner of Scrooge’s. He died seven years ago. Visits Scrooge to warn him of coming events.

Christmas Past—The angel of Christmas past. She reminds Scrooge of his past encounters on Christmas day.

Young Boy Scrooge—The same Ebenezer Scrooge but many years ago. Approximately 7-12 years old.

Little Fan—The older sister of Young Boy Scrooge.

Fezziwig—The owner of the business where Young Adult Scrooge is sent for an apprenticeship. A fun loving man who dances with Mrs. Fezziwig.

Mrs. Fezziwig—The wife of Fezziwig.

Young Adult Scrooge—Another Ebenezer Scrooge. This time in his late teens. Beau of Young Belle.

Young Belle—The girlfriend and fiancé of Young Adult Scrooge. Late teens.

Christmas Present —The angel of Christmas present. He shows Scrooge what Bob Cratchit’s family Christmas celebration and Fred’s Christmas party is like.

Mrs. Cratchit—Bob’s wife.

Peter, Martha, Belinda, Tiny Tim, and Jennifer Cratchit—The children of Bob Cratchit and his wife. Various ages from 5 to teenage.

Mary—Fred’s wife.

Friends of Fred and Mary. They attend the Christmas day party at Fred’s house.

Christmas Future —Angel of Christmas yet to come. Shows Scrooge what will happen in the years before him if current trends go unaltered.

Three Townspeople who knew Scrooge

Old Joe —Runs a pawn shop. Deals with laundress, charwoman and Mrs. Cobbler.

Mrs. Cobbler—Ebenezer Scrooge’s maid.

Laundress—Along with the charwoman and Mrs. Cobbler, she ransacks Scrooge’s apartment after his death.

Charwoman—Along with the laundress and Mrs. Cobbler, she ransacks Scrooge’s apartment after his death.

Children and Townspeople—inhabitants of London who come in contact with Scrooge.
