Star of Persia, the story of Esther, opens on Friday, May 30th, at 7:29 pm, and runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through June 15th at The Grove, located at 276 E 9th St in Upland.

With heroes, villains, romance, plot twists, humor, and mystery, Star of Persia provides great entertainment. But the amazing part of this story is its historical foundation and biblical accuracy.

The box office is open on weekdays from 11 am to 4 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm. Call (909) 920-4343 or come visit us to get your tickets for these shows.

In 1864 archaeologists discovered the ancient city of Susa and the palace of King Xerxes. Many of the artifacts have been excavated and are now in museums. If you read the book of Esther, you will discover that most of the lyrics and dialogue in the play are straight from the scripture.  The set for the show is based on photos of artifacts and descriptions from the book of Esther.

The Megillah (scroll) was the source for many of the prayers sung or spoken by Esther and Mordecai. Yet, Star of Persia is fun and touching, with songs that range from comical to heart warming. The choreography uses almost every genre of dance including jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern, swing and ballroom.
