The Rancho Cucamonga Community Theatre presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream May 30 – June 8, 2008, at the Lewis Family Playhouse at the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center.  Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets for A Midsummer Night’s Dream are $15.00 for general admission and $12.00 for youth and seniors and are available at the Lewis Family Playhouse Box Office by phone at (909) 477-2752, in person at 12505 Cultural Center Dr. or by visiting www.LewisFamilyPlayhouse.com.

This innovative and unique production has been set in modern times by director Michael Naffziger. The production also incorporates modern movement by Broadway dancer and Inland Theatre League Award-winning choreographer, Dustin Ceithamer.

When asked “Why, out of all of William Shakespeare’s plays, is A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed so often, in so many different styles, on so many stages throughout the world?” director Naffziger replied “In my opinion, it is because it contains all of the components of the perfect story, and being set in a dream, it can be done in any fashion, set in any world, or executed in any era. But, as we so often don’t dream in eras but in ideas, our simple set and coy costumes bend the focus to the best part of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the story. A perfect blend of love, laughter, and lapses that challenge yet excite actors, directors, and audiences alike.”

The production features many Rancho Cucamonga Community Theatre favorites as well as newcomers to the Lewis Family Playhouse stage including: Terre Gunkel as Oberon, Carol Grisham as Titania, Dustin Ceithamer as Puck, Mitch Burke as Lysander, Makenna Gettinger as Hermia, Michael Glenny as Demetrius, Dimyana Pelev as Helena, Steven Zunich as Bottom, Spencer Mansouri as Quince, Juleah Sumpter as Hippolyta, Eddie Wantland as Thesius, Joe Watson as Egeus, James Arlow as Snug, Chuck Baugh as Flute, Shuan Hussain as Snug, Arlene Lea as Philostrate, and Erik Olson as Starvling. The cast is rounded with Lauren Bell, Ron Burch, Michara Creencia, Tyler Dawson, Shamia Hussain, Marissa John, Sierra McVey, Jessica Puertas, Jennifer Rubino, Ashlie Rich, Caitlyn Riley, Megan Sanfilippo, Paige Sundstrom, and Noah Vitale.
