Riverside Community Players presents Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Nile, directed by Pat McQuillan.  

A honeymoon trip up the Nile on a paddle steamer turns deadly for wealthy newlyweds, Simon and Kay. There is no lack of suspects since every one of their fellow passengers nurses a grudge against the couple. By the time the boat reaches its destination, the bride’s guardian, Canon Pennefather, has laid bare an audacious conspiracy.

On Friday, April 4, 2008, Forever Plaid opens at The Grove Theatre, located in Historic downtown Upland.  One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this wonderful musical revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950s on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was.

Forever Plaid runs Friday and Saturday nights at 7:29 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 pm through April 20th.

Shakespeare in the Vines, now in its third season performing Shakespeare under the stars in the beautiful ambiance of the Temecula Valley wineries, is very proud to announce company auditions for their 2008 “Season of Love.”

Their ”Season of Love” includes:

Redlands Footlighters announces auditions for the show Everybody Loves Opal, a comedy by John Patrick.  Open auditions will be held on March 10 and 11 at 7:00pm at the theater, located at 1810 Barton Road. 

Director Teresa Dolan will be casting four men in the 20-50 age bracket and two women – one in the 20-30 range and Opal, about 50 years old.  The director is looking for actors able to portray broad physical comedy.  (“Think 3 Stooges or Buster Keaton,” she says.)

Performance dates are May 1 through May 18.

LifeHouse Theater presents an inspirational epic, The Rise of King David.  The scriptural true events in the life of a shepherd, soldier, psalmist and king stunningly unfold as the life of Israel greatest monarch is traced in this new musical biography of King David.

Performances begin Friday, March 28, at 7:30 PM and will continue on weekends through April 27, 2008.  Performances are Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 2:15 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 2:15 PM.  An additional Thursday evening performance will be offered on April 24th at 7:30 PM.  The performances on Saturday, April 12th will also feature interpreted presentations for the hearing impaired.

Advance ticket prices are $12 or $17 for adults and $6 or $9 for children ages 3-11 (no children under 3 are admitted) and can be purchased over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard by calling 335-3037, ext. 21.  Checks can also be mailed to LifeHouse, provided reservations are made far enough in advance.  Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, which is open Fridays from 1 PM to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to and during show times on the weekends.  Tickets are $1 more the day of the performance.  Group rates are available for groups of ten or more.  Guests are encouraged to reserve seats early as many performances sell out.

The theater is located at 1135 N. Church St. in Redlands, next to the Redlands Christian School.  Free parking is available in back of the theater.
