The Canyon Lake Community Theater and Performing Arts Association presents Gypsy at Temescal Canyon High School in Lake Elsinore.  Opening night is Friday, November 9 at 7:00 pm.  Gypsy is directed by long time actress and director, Ilene Moore.  Ms. Moore is the Artist in residence at Butterfield Visual and Performing Arts Magnent School in Lake Elsinore.

Join Rose, June and Louise as they travel across the United States during the 1920’s was vaudeville dies and burlesque was born.  Gypsy will take you on an exciting tour through all of the ups and downs of the show business world as it once was.  Some familiar show tunes are; “Let Me Entertain You,” “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” and “Together Wherever We Go.”

Gypsy has captured many awards since its’ opening for 702 performances on Broadway….1974-1975 Tony Award for Best Actress (Angela Lansbury, and from 1989 through 1990 it received two Tony Awards for Revival and Best Actress (Tyne Daly), two Drama Desk Awards for Revival and Best Actress, as well as two Outer Critics Circle Awards for Revival and Best Actress.   Gypsy has continued to be an extremely successful show since its’ debut having been revived on Broadway no less than three times.
