Musical Theater Day Camp for Kids

The University of Redlands announces the third annual Summer Musical Theater Day Camp were students (ages 6-14) will explore the basic concepts of musical theater. Participants will be introduced to the essentials of voice, drama, make-up, costuming, scenic design, puppetry, and the life and masterful heritage of Frederick Loewe the composer that helped shape American Musical Theater forever. Classes are designed to encourage expressive imagination, creative thinking, self-confidence, and team-work.

The Camp will consist of 25 hours lessons interactive involvement as the program culminates in the musical production The Magic Wand performed on Friday, June 29, 2007, at 1:30pm.

Head instructor, Didi Pelev will direct and oversee the program. Pelev has been teaching musical theater classes, workshops, and camps for the past twelve years. She has written numerous productions working with over four hundred kids in the Inland Empire.

The Musical Theater Day Camp will take place on June 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29. Classes will meet in the Frederick Loewe Performance Hall in the Watchorn building at the University of Redlands from 9:30am to 2:30pm. The cost for each student’s 25-hour participation is $200. Places in the program are limited and early registration is encouraged.
