Chino Community Theatre is currently in rehearsals for the drama Extremeties.  The show involves a rapist attacking a woman and her resisting.  The scenes need to look violent but must be safe to the actors.  Someone skilled with this type of choreography is needed.  There is some pay.  If interested, please contact the director, Michelle Knight at micknight@hotmail.com, as soon as possible.

The Redlands Footlighters Theatre and director Cynthia Lake announce The Underpants, a wacky and bawdy farce, is set to slip onto stage Thursday July 5 at 8:00pm. This raucous comedy continues through Sunday, July 22, 2007.

Rialto Community Players will hold auditions for Tom Stoppard’s Rough Crossing, directed by Merrilee Drake, on Tuesday, July 10th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday, July 11th, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. with callbacks at 8:30 till 10:00 p.m. (as needed) at the Rialto Community Playhouse, 150 East San Bernardino Avenue, Rialto.

Auditions will consist of cold readings, some acapella singing if necessary and appropriate to role and some physical improv.

Rialto Community Players will present 2 Across, a comedy by Jerry Mayer.  This romantic comedy, directed by Kerry Jones and featuring Deborah McFatter and Jeff Richards, opens July July 6th and runing through July 15, 2007, Friday and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

Two strangers, a man and a woman board a San Francisco BART train at 4:30 a.m. They’re alone in the car, each is married, both are doing the New York Times crossword. She’s an organized, sensible, psychologist. He’s a free spirited, unemployed ad exec. She is a crossword pro, he always quits. When he tosses his puzzle away, she snaps, “Crosswords are a metaphor for life, those who finish, succeed, those who don’t, fail.” Now he vows to finish. Fontana Mummers forms youth theater group

Urgent Call for Dancers/Singers

The Corona Civic Light Opera has an urgent need for dancers/singers for major scenes in their upcoming production of Rodgers’ and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.  Looking for both males and females, ages 15-35, any ethnicity to expand the scope of several scenes and enhance the choreography.

Musical Theater Day Camp for Kids

The University of Redlands announces the third annual Summer Musical Theater Day Camp were students (ages 6-14) will explore the basic concepts of musical theater. Participants will be introduced to the essentials of voice, drama, make-up, costuming, scenic design, puppetry, and the life and masterful heritage of Frederick Loewe the composer that helped shape American Musical Theater forever. Classes are designed to encourage expressive imagination, creative thinking, self-confidence, and team-work.

The Camp will consist of 25 hours lessons interactive involvement as the program culminates in the musical production The Magic Wand performed on Friday, June 29, 2007, at 1:30pm. (Read on …)

Kids love animals. Kids love to sing. Mix these together with their fearless love for God and you’ve got the perfect children’s musical! From best-selling kids’ musical creator Celeste Clydesdale comes her latest, King of the Jungle. By observing the animals, the children will learn about Noah’s trust and obedience, Daniel’s faith in God, as well as other Biblical truths. Steven Curtis Chapman’s popular song “King of the Jungle” and the classic Barry McGuire favorite “Bullfrogs and Butterflies” are among many of the upbeat, kid-friendly songs that the children will love to sing and perform.

Performances will be held at The Wallace Theatre, on the campus of California Baptist University, 8432 Magnolia Avenue in Riverside.  Parking is free.  Tickets are $10 for all ages and seating is reserved.
