This musical was inspired by The Little Princess, the motion picture which made Shirley Temple a star. The film was based on the book and play by Frances Hodgson Burnett who also wrote The Secret Garden. The story is about a girl hho, like Orphan Annie, was left alone in the world, abused by a mean old school marm and, through sheer strength and perseverance, rises above it all. Unlike the original movie and play, Debbie Prutsman and Richard Stover have made this wonderful story into a rousing musical.
Songs like “My Little Princess”, “A Stiff Upper Lip” and “Zapadoodle Pie!” will bring to life the timeless tale of a young English girl who, with fortitude and compassion, makes the world a better place. This is a professional ensemble show, full of kids and provocative adults. Richard Stover will be conducting a live orchestra.
