Auditions: CAT of Corona’s 4th Annual Summer Theater Festival
CAT Corona is now making open audition appointments for its Summer Festival 2007. The festival runs from Thursday July 19th through Sunday August 5th. Our summer shows (performed in repertory) this year will be:
My Fair Lady
Directed by Lori Hennebelle, Choreography by Hollee Hennebelle
Minimum age to audition: 14
Steel Magnolias
Directed by John Lynd
Minimum age to audition: 18
Youth Production: Disney’s 101 Dalmatians
Directed by Ember Williams and Colleen Shelton
Ages 8 – 18
Auditions:
Auditions for My Fair Lady and Steel Magnolias will take place at the Corona Civic Center 815 W. 6th Street, Corona (in the gym building) on Friday evening May 11th and Saturday morning May 12th.
Auditions for Disney’s 101 Dalmatians will take place on Friday evening June 8th and Saturday morning June 9th at Crossroads Christian School 1400 Fullerton Road, Corona.
Requirements for Summer Festival participants: There will be a $25.00 production fee for actors involved as well as a 20 hour production commitment, (rehearsal time excluded).

My Fair Lady:
The Role of Henry Higgins is filled.
Eliza Doolittle – a cockney flower girl. Her potential to become “a lady” becomes the object of a between Higgins and Pickering
Colonel Pickering: Retired British officer with the colonial experience.
Mrs. Eynsford-Hill: a friend of Mrs. Higgins’ and Freddy’s mother.
Mrs. Higgins: Henry’s long-suffering mother.
Freddy Eynsford-Hill: Upper class young man who becomes completely smitten with Eliza.
Alfred P. Doolittle: Eliza’s father; an elderly but vigorous dustman.
Harry, Jamie: Drinking companions of Alfred Doolittle.
Mrs. Pearce: Henry Higgins’ housekeeper

Steel Magnolias:
Truvy Jones: (Female, late 30’s early 40’s) The wisecracking owner of the beauty shop.
Annelle Dupuy-Desoto: (Female, early 20s) Truvy’s simple, yet enigmatic, assistant.
Clairee Belcher: (Female, mid 50s-early 60s) Widow of the former mayor, a wealthy Grande Dame
Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie (Female, mid 20s) “The prettiest girl in town”
M’Lynn Eatenton (Female, late 40s-early 50s) Shelby’s mother, a socially prominent career woman.
Ouiser (“Weezer) Boudreaux (Female, mid 50s-early 60s) A wealthy curmudgeon. Ascerbic, but lovable.
101 Dalmatians:
Cruella de Vil: Female, strong actor, singer and mover. Natural leader with dramatic flair who is unafraid to be mean and bossy.
Roger: Male, songwriter and owner of the Dalmatians. He is soft spoken yet confident and displays leadership in a quiet and composed way. Strong actor, singer and mover.
Anita: Sweet, nurturing owner of the Dalmatians and a painter. Strong actor w/good singing voice.
Horace & Jasper: Provide comic relief (Abbott & Costello or Laurel & Hardy). Good singers, but stronger actors. Actors who are good at physical comedy and willing to use Cockney accents.
Pongo & Perdita: Dalmatian parents
Sergeant Tibbs: girl or boy, strong singing and speaking voice.
London dogs: children who can do many accents, considered “ethnic” dogs
Dalmatian puppies: Children who take direction well, strong enough to sing/lead a group, comfortable with using their bodies to transform into dogs.
Nanny: housekeeper, small role with strong speaking voice. Not necessarily strong singing voice.
