Auditions: Chino Community Children’s Theatre announces auditions for Lord of the Flies

Chino Community Children’s Theatre proudly presents the classic drama and horror tale of Lord of the Flies by William Golding and adapted to the stage by Nigel Willams; directed by John Lynd.

Auditions are Saturday and Sunday, January 13 and 14, 2007, from 10am to 2pm.  The show runs March 9-18, 2007, at the Seventh Street Theatre (13123 Seventh Street) in Chino.  Call 909.590.1149 with questions.

Needed: 13 boys ages 7 to 18

Ralph….The best of the bunch. He is the voice of reason in this story of madness. The boy who should be the leader, the conscience. The calm one. Piggy’s friend.

Jack…. The polar opposite of Ralph.  An explosive, insecure but cocky, militant. He is a frighteningly commanding and charismatic crazy man in the making.

Roger…Slightly frightened. Gullible. A follower. An average kid small in stature.

Simon…. A threat to Jack. Bright. Good looking.

Perceval….Six or seven year old. An innocent gentle boy.

Sam…. One of the loyal to Jack. He will betray him ultimately, because he wants to do right.

Eric… Sam’s last pal. Nervous. A reluctant soldier.

Henry… Good support role. A joiner.

Maurice….The clown of the boys.

Bill… A good pal to maurice. Easy to laugh.

Naval officer… Stern. Official. No nonsense. Older than the others. Small role.

Naval officer… A young cadet. Not much older than the children on the island. Small role.

All roles require English accents.

The rehearsals will be very intense and will discuss and explore the human condition and the tragedy of the psychological and physical murders of the castaways.  The theatre and director will assure the performers safety.  These are challenging showcase roles for serious actors.

Parental permission required.

There is no pay. A participation fee from each actor is also required.
