Temecula Performing Arts Company presents Once Upon A Mattress
Temecula Performing Arts Company, part of the Fine Arts Network, is pleased to announce the opening of their 6th Annual Sumner Musical Production, Once Upon A Mattress.
Show dates are Friday,August 4 & 11, at 8:00 pm; Saturday, August 5 & 12, at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm; and Sunday, August 6, at 2:00 pm. Ticket prices are $12 $ 15 & $18 plus applicable handling fees. All Performances are at the Old Town Temecula Community Theatre located at Front and Main Street in Old Town, behind the Mercantile Building.
Once Upon A Mattress is a critically acclaimed musical comedy that originally opened on Broadway in 1959 marking the debut of famed stage and television legend Carol Burnett who originated the role of Princess Winifred the Woebegone. Once Upon A Mattress was originally written as a shorter play during an adult summer camp. The play was later expanded for the Broadway stage. The play was written as an adaptation of the “Princess and the Pea”. The shows music was written by Mary Rogers with Lyrics by Marshall Barer. The book was written by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barere.
T.P.A.C.’s production of Once Upon A Mattress is directed and choreographed by Jillian Stones and Beverly Stephenson. The cast features 30 teens and young adults, many of them local favorites. Principal cast members include: Brittney Noelle Moss of Lake Elsinore as Princess Winifred, Justin Searls of Murrieta as Prince Dauntless, Mitchell Peck of Wildomar as the Minstrel, Eric Ruiter of Corona as Sir Harry, Ashley Nordland of Lake Elsinore as Lady Larken C.J. Essary of Wildomar as King Sextimus, Kristen Mowry of Murrieta as Queen Aggravain, Sean Kiralla of Temecula as the Jester, and Brian Inman of Temecula as the Wizard.
