At last there is a striking musical about one of the most interesting and notorious women of 18th century England. We follow Moll Flanders, the title character, from her illegitimate birth in Newgate Prison through a life of struggle, surprise, triumph and fun.
Moll does manage five husbands and a few lovers in the course of events. You’ll meet them all along with a cast of the wonderful characters found in English novels, plays and motion pictures. You won’t want to miss this musical if only to see one actor play five different husbands… Moll loved them all. That was a problem but producers had a very difficult time trying to find someone to play the title role. Beautiful, strong, versatile, singer, actress, comedian, professional! Those words all added up to Debbie Prutsman, award winning star of southern California regional theater. Deb has triumphed in almost every big regional venue you could name. How about the Starlight Amphitheatre, Moonlight Amphitheatre, Performance Riverside, Theatrical Arts International, Lawrence Welk, Candlelight Dinner Theater, and the Redlands Bowl and Theater Festival. She has starred in dozens of shows from “Hello, Dolly” to “Sweeney Todd,” and from “Cabaret” to “South Pacific.”
