Performance Riverside and the Landis Performing Arts Center announce open call auditions for the upcoming musical production of EVITA. Auditions will be held on Sunday, April 30, in Huntley Gym on the lower level of the campus of Riverside Community College in Riverside, California.

The director for EVITA is John Vaughan and the choreographer is Lee Martino. Don LeMaster will be the music director/conductor.

There will be no Equity auditions. The part of Eva Peron is already cast. All other parts are open. Dance auditions will begin at 11:00 a.m. Dancers must be able to sing. Singing auditions will begin at 12:00 p.m. Singers must be able to move well. Everyone must be 18 years old or older. Call backs will be the same day.

All persons who audition must bring a resume, headshot and a biography with them. The costumer will be on hand to measure everyone after 12:30 p.m. on April 30 who is selected for the cast. Actors/dancers/singers who do not bring bios and headshots with them will be required to have a head shot made that day and also write a resume and biography before they leave.

Rehearsals begin Sunday, May 14, and performances run from June 9 through June 18. Come prepared to list any conflicts you have with the rehearsal schedule. Being in this production requires a commitment of approximately 160 hours or rehearsals and performances. Performance stipends are available. Non-equity actors must sing 32 bars of a song of their choice, but you may be asked to sing an entire song. Please bring a copy of the sheet music in the correct key. Piano accompaniment will be provided.

Directions to Huntley Gym: To enter the lower level of the Riverside Community College campus, exit the 91 Freeway at 14th street, and follow Lime/Olivewood Street to the intersection of Ramona Avenue and Olivewood. Turn into the campus from Ramona. Huntley Gym will be on your right after the Pilates Studio. Go first to register in Classroom C2 of the portables in Lovekin Field (across the street from Huntley Gym) and you will be escorted into Huntley Gym with your group for auditions.

If you use the 60 freeway east or west, take the Market Street exit into Riverside. You will cross 14th Street, and it will become Magnolia Avenue. Turn left on Ramona Avenue. Go to the bottom of the hill and turn left into the campus. Come into the lower level of the campus and park near the portables on the left. Find classroom C2 for check in.
