Auditions: H.M.S. Pinafore
The Bad Luck Factory, a new professional theatre in the Inland Valley, is casting their first production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore.
Open auditions will be held on April 29 from 6pm till 10pm at the historic Pilgrim Church, 600 N. Garey AV, Pomona, California 91767. For an audition appointment (not required) please respond to this email at kaunazoaproductionsllc@msn.com or call casting at 909-992-8719.
Come prepared to sing. Accompanist will be provided or you may use CD. Dancing skills a plus. Rehearsals begin on May 1 and will run for 5 weeks on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 930pm at the Pilgrim Church. Occasional weekend rehearsals may be called on a need basis only.
The classic musical will run for fours weeks beginning on June 9, and running until July 2. Some pay will be provided.
Seeking:
Ralph Rackstraw, 18-25, a handsome and accomplished sailor, a lyric (tenor), strong acting and movement a must.
Josephine, 18-25, the beautiful daughter of the sea captain, must have a strong voice (soprano) and strong acting ability.
Little Buttercup, 35-45, a bumboat woman who is red and round and rosy, must have a strong voice (alto).
Sir Joseph Porter, 50, must be extremely strong actor with comedic timing, must be able to carry a tune and move well.
Dick Dead Eye, 35-40, the embodiment of the ugly truth, must have a good singing voice (bass).
Captain Corcoran, 35-45, a very straight character, a gentleman, strong (baritone) with superb acting skills.
Hebe, 35-45, (high alto or mezzo).
Boatswain’s Mate, 18-30, strong (baritone).
Carpenters Mate, 18-30, strong (bass).
